How to Get Married on Siesta Beach

My wife and I were married on Siesta Beach this past October in a beautiful ceremony right on Siesta Beach in front of 60 friends and family members. Siesta Beach is located on Siesta Key and was just named the #1 Beach in the United States and #5 in the World.

How did we pull this off while staying in our budget? It was a lot simpler and less expensive than we ever thought possible.

Where do you start?

The internet is a terrific spot to do some research into a beach wedding. Let me save you some time and give you a quick summary.

You have two options for having the beach wedding - get the permit yourself or hire a reputable company to take care of it for you. We recommend having a company take care of the ceremony for you.

We used Gulf Beach Weddings out of St. Pete. They made everything extremely easy for us. We used their easy to use website to pick the colors, how many chairs and which ceremonies we wanted to do. They took care of the beach permit, the officiant & all set up and take down.

They were very easy to deal with and very available. Everyone was on time and everything went well on the day of the wedding. Make sure you do your research on any company you choose, but these types of businesses can make your wedding a breeze.

Which Siesta Beach Access is the best spot for your ceremony? We chose Access #5 because of it's proximity to Siesta Key Village and parking options. It is also a less busy part of Siesta Beach which helps keep beachgoers out of your wedding photos and video.

We recommended that our guests stay in hotels near Siesta Beach. We had some guests stay here at Minorga on the Key Village Condos in Siesta Key Village which was an easy walk to Access #5 where we were married. If staying on Siesta Key isn't an option an Uber or Lyft is recommended.

Our reception was held at Florida Studio Theatre in Downtown Sarasota. We hired Sarasota Trolley to bring our guests Downtown from Access #5, which was a really fun way to transition from ceremony to reception. The open air trolley was a great way to breathe in the experience with family and friends.

We couldn't of asked for a better wedding location than Sarasota and Siesta Key. The beach was fantastic and something most people can only dream about. Florida Studio Theatre was a perfect venue for our wedding and is right in the heart of Downtown Sarasota. Dana was our contact at FST and basically doubled as a wedding coordinator for us! We can't thank her enough for all her help!

We dared to dream our perfect wedding and made it happen. You can, too.
