Siesta Beach Guide

Siesta Beach was just named the #1 Beach in the USA and #5 Beach in the World by TripAdvisor users! Here's a simple guide of Siesta Beach & Crescent Beach to keep you ahead of the crowds and in the best spots during your Siesta Key Vacation!

Knowing the Beach Access points is critical to getting around Siesta Beach. Here is some simple info on the access points as well as distances from Siesta Key Village and Siesta Beach Public Facilities.

Siesta Beach Access 1
Often referred to as "Shell Beach" this is the only isolated area of Siesta Beach that is not connected by walkable sand to the rest of Siesta Beach. The parking is along Shell Road, only has about 20 spots and fills up fast. Get there early for a parking spot and space on the small beach. The beach itself is not the same high quality sand that the rest of Siesta Beach boasts, is small and often deals with strong currents in Big Pass. One big benefit is that you have a higher chance of seeing a dolphin or manatee at this spot that overlooks Big Pass and faces Lido Key.

Miles to Center of Siesta Key Village: 1.8
Miles to Siesta Beach Public Facilities: 2.6

Siesta Beach Access 2
Beach Access 2 has no parking but has "The Broken Pier," a Siesta Key landmark. This is the closest part of the beach to Siesta Key Village bars & restaurants and begins the walkable path all the way to Access 13 on Crescent Beach. This part of Siesta Beach is busy during sunset and usually filled with people from the surrounding condos and everywhere north of this spot.

Miles to Center of Siesta Key Village: 0.3
Miles to Siesta Beach Public Facilities: 1.2

Siesta Beach Access 3
This part of Siesta Beach is usually a great spot to find some space on busier days. Access 2 fills up with people from Siesta Key Village but Access 3 remains less busy. There is no parking but this is a spot worth walking to from larger parking lots like Access 7 and Siesta Key Village.

Miles to Center of Siesta Key Village: 0.3
Miles to Siesta Beach Public Facilities: 1.1

Siesta Beach Access 4
The consistently least busy part of Siesta Beach has no parking but is close to the small parking lot for Access 5 if you can get there early enough. It is not very far from Access 7's large parking lot, either. Access 4 gives you a great view, less crowds and easy access to Siesta Key Village. It's also a great spot to watch the sunset and take great photos with water on both sides from this "Point" where the beach starts to head north.

Miles to Center of Siesta Key Village: 0.3
Miles to Siesta Beach Public Facilities: 0.9

Siesta Beach Access 5
Beach Access 5 has the 2nd worst parking lot on Siesta Key but also has a huge extra area of glorious Siesta Beach sand and gives you the best beach Sunset view. Since it has the small parking lot and is far enough from Siesta Key Village and the larger parking lot for Access 7, Beach Access 5 is less busy than other parts and a great spot to camp out for the day.

Miles to Center of Siesta Key Village: 0.3
Miles to Siesta Beach Public Facilities: 0.8

Siesta Beach Access 7
There is no Beach Access 6. Beach Access 7 has the largest, most manageable parking lot outside of the main public beach parking lot. It still only has about 40 parking spaces, but gives you the best chance to find a spot when it's busy. This part of the beach is less crowded than most and has some great beach paths for photography and wildlife viewing. The beach area itself is much smaller than other spots so there isn't as much space to spread out if it is very busy.

Miles to Center of Siesta Key Village: 0.5
Miles to Siesta Beach Public Facilities: 0.5

Siesta Beach Access 8
A lot of people forget Access 8 exists because the parking lot is so small. It holds about a dozen small cars but does have a spot or two once in a while on busy days. It features a cool path that goes right by a lineup of sailboats on in the grass. This is another part of the beach that has less beach area but the area from Access 8 to Access 10 is one of your best chances to find a spot on the busiest of days.

Miles to Center of Siesta Key Village: 0.6
Miles to Siesta Beach Public Facilities: 0.4

Siesta Beach Access 10
This spot features no parking but a lot of character. The long path to the beach is filled with beautiful trees and flowers. This is the spot that many consider the end of the Public Beach area. It is the spot where the beach shrinks so sometimes it can be very busy but is usually a great spot to be close enough to the Public Beach for the facilities but far enough away from the crowds.

Miles to Center of Siesta Key Village: 0.7
Miles to Siesta Beach Public Facilities: 0.3

Siesta Beach Access 11
This access features a limited number of spots on the street as well as close access to the north end of the Siesta Beach Public Parking lot. It also features some pavilions and close access to Siesta Beach Facilities.

Miles to Center of Siesta Key Village: 0.8
Miles to Siesta Beach Public Facilities: 0.2

Siesta Beach
The main part of Siesta Beach features a large sand castle playground for kids, the Sunset Deck, food & drink options as well as restrooms. This is where the majority of parking exists but still make sure to get here early as it does fill up completely often. Play volleyball on the famous courts here or watch the Drum Circle on Sundays at sunset. This is the main part of Siesta Beach.

Siesta Beach Access 12
This is the worst parking lot on Siesta Key and only for short compact vehicles. DO NOT try to park in here with a van or truck. There are only about 15 spots and you have to pull forward and turn around by doing a 11 point turn. This is the only parking for the public close to Point of Rocks and Crescent Beach, so make sure to get here very early if you want a spot and have the right vehicle.

Miles to Center of Siesta Key Village: 2.8
Miles to Siesta Beach Public Facilities: 1.9

Siesta Beach Access 13
No parking here at the last Siesta Beach Access. This is just a spot for visitors staying south of the beach to have access. Start here and walk all the way to Beach Access 2 on the best sand in the world!

Miles to Center of Siesta Key Village: 3.0
Miles to Siesta Beach Public Facilities: 2.1
